We are pleased to announce that our Jordanian-American author Hadel S. Ma’ayeh and her book of poetry, haikus, and sayings titled From the Heart: A Journey of Love (2014; Hope & Life Press) have been featured in the October issue of VEMA, the monthly newspaper of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, and the “oldest circulating Greek newspaper outside Greece.” Ma’ayeh who is also a Huffington Post Passionista was interviewed for this feature by Chris Vlahonasios of Transfigure Media. To read this fascinating interview whereby Hadel talks in depth about how she came to develop her poetry and sayings, please click here or on the above photo, and download the newspaper in English or Greek. The interview is on page 15.
From the Heart: A Journey of Love contains poems that are haunting and timeless, innovative and jazzy, exquisitely balanced, with the ability to invade one’s soul. In them Ma’ayeh’s poetic voice paints an extraordinarily realistic picture of life in our postmodern age. The sensory words and emotions she uses effectively transport the reader to the settings described. The composition of the poems is sufficiently complex to provoke the reader into filling the blanks with their imagination, while being left wanting more.
