Hope and Life Press is pleased to announce the release of the sixth ebook titled The Divine Heart of God the Father in Scripture in our new Christianity Book Series.
God the Father is a divine spirit. Unlike His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who became the God-Man through the Incarnation, the Heavenly Father cannot be said to have a heart in the human sense of the term. Yet, throughout Scripture, the Father has often referred to His Heart within the context of His relationship with humanity. This book provides a factual overview of the 28 references that can be found in Sacred Scripture about the Divine Heart of God the Father, both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. These references are derived from and presented in a side-by-side comparison from three major Scripture sources, namely the Latin Vulgate, the Septuagint (LXX), and the Masoretic Text (Yahwist Source).
A few years ago I began to see posts on Christopher Villiers’ Facebook page. The way he deeply and thoughtfully describes characters and stories from the Bible inspired me to read more of his work. I anxiously await each Facebook post!
It didn’t take me long to get my hands on a copy of his book Petals of Vision. It is full of poems about life. As we begin this New Year, what better way than to read Christopher Villiers’ book Petals of Vision. The very first poem New Year …… “I shed the old year, Letting its skin slip from me. A pale freshness shines, possibilities glowing, a lit path to somewhere new.” I wish many glowing possibilities to Christopher who has lit a path to somewhere new for me with his book.

The author of this superb work is an award-winning journalist. The book presents 119 top myths about abortion and detailed arguments against them by use of science, philosophy and, when required, theology. Above all else the arguments are logical and any fair minded person will be open to persuasion. The arguments are presented in a clear and concise manner. The book is easy to read.
I finished the book with the strong impression that being pro-life means being pro-woman. The idea that the unborn child is in a state of perpetual conflict with the mother is a myth conjured up by pro-abortionists. Women need to have the support of a culture to help them have the child, says the author. Apart from abortion, other topics include artificial contraception, Natural Family Planning and genetic screening.
Is abortion amoral? No, says the author. The intentional killing of an innocent human being is always a moral decision. Does life start at birth? No, at conception there is a human being with a distinct, unchanging and unrepeatable genetic code. The author also notes that a disproportionate number of female unborn children are aborted: why aren’t the feminists protesting? Continue reading here.
Hope and Life Press is pleased to announce the release of the fifth ebook titled What is the Magisterium of the Catholic Church in our new Christianity Series. Intended to educate and suitable for easy reference, this ebook provides an overview about the doctrine of the teaching authority in the Catholic Church.
The Magisterium of the Catholic Church has been much misunderstood by Catholics and non-Catholics alike both throughout history and in present times. Addressing the nature of the Magisterium as defined by Vatican Councils I and II, the Constitution on the Faith, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, this book provides a factual and easy-to-understand outline of the basic principles of the Magisterium, what it is and what it is not, and its relationship to Christian believers. It also gives an in-depth look at what constitutes the ordinary magisterium of the Pope, as well as the intrinsic nature of papal indefectibility and infallibility. The Hope and Life Press Christianity Series ebooks are available directly from the publishers and the usual book outlets including Amazon.
